The name Acini Nobili means literally "noble berries" and refers to the fact that winemaker Fausto Maculan uses only his top fruit for this dried-grape (passito) dessert wine. Maculan's wines are widely recognized as some of the best sweet wines to be made in Italy and while this wine can be served as a "stand-alone" wine (i.e., it is one of the few wines that can be served without a food pairing), it will also pair well with ripened cheeses.
