The Veneto town of Valdobbiadene, located 37 km from Treviso, is home to Prosecco, one of Italy’s most popular grape varieties. The producers of Col de’ Salici have only been producing their Prosecco di Valdobbiadene for six years, yet the company lacks in experience it makes up for in an astute knowledge of the wine market and a commitment to continuous improvement. Lately the firm has taken important decisions regarding its Prosecco, opting to produce only Brut Spumante and Extra Dry Spumante, thus abandoning its production of still and frizzante Prosecco. The firm believes that the Spumante Prosecco is the finest expression of the DOC variety, and having tasted these wines it’s hard to disagree.
